NEXT-GEN DIAGNOSTICS

Personalized dentistry is the most advanced type of dentistry today, one that recognizes unique biological, biochemical and genetic differences. At the Tel Aviv Dental clinic, we use next-gen testing to identify these individual characteristics and create a restorative and preventative treatment plan, fully customized to each patient..

About Me: About
  • Melisa Test - metal sensitivity test
ABOUT THE MELISA METAL SENSITIVITY TEST The MELISA test is an innovative and unique blood test to detect sensitivity to metals and the behavior of the immune system when exposed to metal in the body. This is the most advanced test for diagnosing sensitivity to metals. This test is also used by us to detect sensitivity to implants made of titanium. Sensitivity to metals is common in patients with the following diseases: Skin diseases such as: psoriasis, eczema. Auto-immune diseases such as: multiple sclerosis. • Clifford Test Sensitivity test for dental materials
ABOUT THE CLIFFORD TEST FOR SENSITIVITY TO DENTAL MATERIALS When there is a suspicion of sensitivity to dental materials used by us in the dental clinic, there are several options for testing the sensitivity. The first is a referral to perform a patch test through KofH, a test that tests an immune response expressed on the skin in direct contact with a limited number of common dental materials. A second option is a blood test, which examines an immune response under a microscope upon exposure to a large number of dental materials divided into approximately 36 categories (materials used for fillings, crowns, bridges, adhesives and more). • TRI-MERCURY TEST
ABOUT THE TRI-MERCURY TEST This is a scientific test with advanced technology that allows us to measure the level of exposure to mercury, the source of exposure and the subject's ability to remove mercury from the body's systems. The test combines 3 tests - blood, hair and urine, where the ratio between the different tests has meaning. Mercury from amalgam fillings is inorganic mercury (HgII) and is considered the most toxic to nerve tissue, while mercury from seafood is mostly organic mercury (MeHg). • DNA Caries risk test
ABOUT THE CARIES RISK TEST: Caries that causes 'holes' in the teeth is a disease that is affected by several components found in saliva. This easy test, performed in our clinic, identifies the DNA in the harmful bacteria in saliva and enables early diagnosis and specific preventive treatment if necessary. This test also gives an indication about the quality of brushing the teeth and maintaining oral hygiene. FACTORS TO TEST FOR: • Mutants streptococci bacteria • lactobacilli bacteria • The amount of saliva produced in the oral cavity • The quality of saliva - its ability to neutralize acidity created by bacterial activity ADVANTAGES OF TESTING: Identifying caries in the teeth in the early stages before the "holes" form allows preventive treatment in order to prevent the spread of caries. In the event that the test results show poor salivary activity, emphasis is given to measures that increase salivary activity and rinses to reduce hyperacidity in the mouth. When high values of MUTANTS bacteria are obtained, then the frequency of inspections at the dental clinic must be increased along with the use of modern means that help stop the degradation of the tooth enamel and encourage the rebuilding of the minerals that make up the tooth. This test is used by us as part of the CAMBRA principle, which you can read about here TESTING RECOMMENDED FOR: • Children at risk of contracting caries bacteria (parents with caries) • "Clean" oral cavity • Orthodontic patients • Patients before extensive rehabilitation • For those with exposed roots after periodontal treatment. IDENTIFYING THE BACTERIA THAT CAUSES GUM DISEASE The test is done by taking a saliva sample from the gum area which is taken to the laboratory where the analysis of the saliva is performed. After a short period, a detailed report is received from which it is possible to learn about the composition of the approximately 20 "bad" bacteria that cause gum disease and what type of treatment is recommended against those disease agents (for example, the use of antibiotics in some cases) · Monitoring of existing periodontal disease · Early detection of "recurrent gum disease" · Assessing the chance of receiving implants
  • A biological test to identify chronic periodontal disease that causes jawbone retraction - MMP Test
ABOUT THE 8 MMP (metalloproteinase) TEST This process is called "loss of support" and may cause the teeth to fall out. The MMP8 test allows monitoring of the presence of the biological marker present in active gum disease, and in combination with the assessment of the amount of "bad" bacteria around the gums, the severity of the disease can be assessed. The test is the only way in which it is possible to predict at an early stage the expected process of bone loss - the "recession of the gums" - and to plan its treatment in accordance with the patient's personal biology. The test is performed in our clinic and the answers are received on the spot. PURPOSE: A biological test to detect inflammation around implants and to assess the risk of their failure. Early detection of chronic gum disease in its early stages when the amount of 'bad' bacteria is still low and the damage is minimal. A measure of the level of gum disease control in a patient with a known disease, receiving ongoing treatment.
  • BiteStrip teeth grinding self test
ABOUT THE BITESTRIP TEETH GRINDING TEST Some people grind their teeth in their sleep unconsciously. The movement of the jaws against each other may cause the following effects: • Erosion of the teeth and damage to the balance of the jaws • Dismantling blockages and bridges • Pain in the jaws • Headaches The treatment to prevent the damage of grinding is carried out by fitting a "night brace" that is easily assembled before going to sleep and prevents the meeting and the great friction between the upper and lower teeth. Until today, the problem could only be discovered by looking at the teeth or by a report from the spouses of those suffering from the problem. The problem is that the dentist sees the signs of tooth wear and cannot diagnose whether the patient is actually grinding his teeth during the treatment period or whether the signs are due to grinding of his teeth that occurred in the past and left its mark on the teeth. Many times, a night brace has been fitted to patients who have long since stopped grinding their teeth. The BiteStrip sticker allows the patient to check for himself whether he grinds his teeth. Place the patch on the cheek before going to bed and sleep with it for at least 5 hours. In the morning, the sticker clearly shows if there was teeth grinding and with what frequency and intensity. This is an innovative solution that allows the adjustment of a night brace to those who need it, but at the same time prevents the cost and the inconvenience from those who do not need it.
